Welcome to the West Side Farmers Market The West Side Farmers Market 2020 season runs every Saturday June 6th through October 10th 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Located at 63 George St. W in St. Paul MN. The West Side Farmers market brings locally produced food, cottage goods and more to the greater community. See below for our COVID-19 precautions. Black Lives Matter The West Side Farmers Market is deeply saddened and angered by the murder of George Floyd. We have, and will continue to work to make our market a safe and friendly space for the community. Black lives matter. All are welcome in our space to come together in peace and solidarity. It isn’t just about words, it is actions big and small that will change the system that perpetuates disproportionate violence toward communities of color. In the coming weeks and months, we will be working with the West Side community to chart a course of action to do to do our part to end this horrific cycle. We are currently collecting non-perishable foods and fresh veggies for the Guadalupe Alternative Program (a West Side School) as well as baby supplies and clothing for pre-schoolers for the Rondo ECFE program to help those in our community who are experiencing the effects of systemic racism and oppression here the West Side. Want to get more involved in the effort? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org COVID-19 and WSFM (We’re open!) COVID-19 has changed a lot of things in the past few months. One thing that hasn’t changed is people’s need for food. Governor Walz has explicitly designated Farmers Markets as an essential service (along with other food retailers) and are permitted to be open even under shelter-in-place orders. The first month of the season was an overwhelming success and we’re looking forward to the rest of the season! What to expect:We only have one entrance and exit this year, so come to the George Street entrance where you will be greeted by a friendly volunteer who will ask you to wash your hands and request that you wear a mask while at the market so we can keep this vital community resource safe. Forgot your mask at home? No problem, we have disposable masks at the entrance (they’re free with a suggested donation of $1) and a vendor selling reusable ones. You may be asked to wait when you get there. We did the math and figured out we can safely accommodate 20 customers at a time. To make sure every family who wants to shop at WSFM can, we’re asking you to shop in smaller groups and pets will not be permitted. Service animals are always welcome. To help keep you safe, all market staff, volunteers, and vendors will be wearing masks and washing or sanitizing hands frequently. We ask that you refrain from touching products before you buy them and there is no eating on site. Using credit cards and exact change for payments will also help keep everyone safer. We have new plastic credit card tokens that are sanitized each week. Only have big bills? No problem, you can stop by the market information tent and exchange your big bills for clean tokens to spend with vendors.
